When you are following a ketogenic diet, it seems the first thing you want to do is find foods that you loved before going low carb. There are plenty out there – those made with almond or coconut flour, those made with approved sweeteners – however, I’ve found they are great to help you come down from your very high carb diet and wean yourself off highly processed and sweet foods, but when you really get strict about keeping your carbs down, you will quickly realize that any recipes with those ingredients will add carbs and though they are better for you than the white sugars and flours, the carbs add up fast.
This corn dog recipe barely has any carbs-0.3 per dog!! So it satisfies you, and it satisfies that craving for a cheat food and adds to your fat that you really need to get into ketosis! It is also SO very easy and if you use your air fryer it takes 6 minutes!! Enjoy!!
Carnivore Corn Dogs
Seriously, who doesn’t like corn dogs??? These are so good and such a
good keto and/or carnivore treat! Each corn dog only has 0.3 carbs!
Ingredients:
3 hot dogs
1 cup packed crusted pork rinds
2 large eggs, beaten
¼ cup duck fat for frying (or lard) or AIR FRYER, which is what I did.
Place the crushed pork rinds and eggs into a medium bowl and combine with a fork. Use your hands to form around the hot dogs.
Heat the fat in a large skillet over medium high heat. Once hot, add the
coated dogs and gently fry and roll until golden brown on all sides.
AIR FRYER method:
Place the coated dogs on a piece of parchment paper
and place in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 6 minutes, gently rotate after
3 minutes. Air fry until golden brown. Enjoy!! I did!!
